Nonferrous/Electrical Sessions
Presenter: Kari Nieminen

The presentation will explain Continuous Gravimetric Blending and how it differs from other better know or widely used systems. It also explains why integration makes sense in generally and particularly with Continuous Gravimetric Blending application instead of settling for basic stand-alone installation solutions.

Laser Doppler Velocimetry (LDV) has been a long-proven method for accurately measuring the length and speed of products. Many applications involving the production of long, continuous cylindrical products – cord, rods and wire – pose measurement challenges. Products that cannot be well-guided, move off-axis and out of the measurement range make it difficult for traditional LDV-based gauges to keep the laser on the product’s surface. This results in hard-to-obtain, unreliable measurements. This presentation highlights a new patent-pending, breakthrough technology that accurately, reliably measures these type of products.

General Sessions

Learn how computer vision technology has improved in recent years resulting in numerous applications in many fields. Some of the characteristics of the technology are particularly well suited for the wire and cable industry. The new tools offer opportunities for plant modernization and more technology-driven operations. The general technology, trends in other manufacturing verticals, and some of the unique opportunities these tools offer for the wire and cable industry will be presented.

Nonferrous/Electrical Sessions
Presenter: Kiran Raza

Whether it’s extended downtime, contamination, increased scrap rate, or unplanned screw pulls, even the most seasoned processors deal with difficulties that impact their output and hurt profitability. Learn five actionable steps to reduce scrap and downtime. See how purging compounds can positively impact your process, and help you address and avoid the causes of difficulty.

Nonferrous/Electrical Sessions
Presenter: Andrew Meyer

EPR (ethylene propylene rubber) moisture crosslinkable compounds allow manufacturers to process rubber based, thermoset materials without investing in expensive curing processes (i.e., continuous vulcanization lines or electron beams). The versatility, flexibility and processability of these compounds has accelerated their use in various wire and cable applications. This presentation provides a brief overview of moisture cure technology, and highlights the applications, benefits, and challenges of moisture crosslinkable EPR based systems.
